Complaints
We try to provide the best service we can but recognise that nothing goes right all of the time. If you are not happy with our service please tell us. The practice manager is our complaints officer and will happily discuss any issues with you. We adhere to the NHS complaints procedure and a leaflet about the Surgery complaints procedure is available at the reception or download our complaints - patient information leaflet. We are equally happy to receive praise and pass it on to our staff. You can use the Friends and Families box in reception for this.

Friends and family test
On 1 December 2014 the NHS Friends and Family simple survey form was introduced.The survey allows you to provide quick feedback about your experience with us. We are very happy to receive this feedback in hard copy in the Friends and Family box in reception or you can send it to us electronically. The DoH publishes the results of this survey on the NHS Choices website but also requires the practice to publish the results monthly. You will find the last year's results below:

National Patient Survey
For some years the Department of Health has contracted Ipsos Mori to conduct patient surveys independently of doctors. The results of these surveys are published on the GP-Patient Survey website.
This survey site allows you to compare any 3 GP practices you wish and also gives an indication of the averages for the area and compares practices against national averages for the questions. You will see that the national surveys show that Newburn compares favourably with other practices in the Newcastle area and even better with practices nationally. The Care Quality Commission draws in this information when assessing a GP practice and the results also appear on the NHS Choices website.
